Bingo News: Microgaming and 888 join forces
The global powerhouse of online gaming software solutions, Microgaming has announced they are to join forces with 888.com to develop a new poker network in France.
The joint poker product will be available to 888.com’s B2C customers as well as Microgaming and dragonfish licences in France.
"This deal marks a turning point in the industry. It provides us with the ideal platform to secure a meaningful market share in France which is set to become one of the key poker markets in Europe. This is an important step in the development of the industry, and marks the start of European regulated companies collaborating in the poker field to increase their competitiveness."
Gigi Levy, CEO, 888.
The deal will be subject to both companies obtaining the correct licensing and following strict French regulations. The French market is due to open itself up to non state providers, presenting an offer to overseas companies that is just too good to ignore. The French market is also set to become a major money maker in the world of poker over the next few years, providing companies with a sound investment for the future.
Roger Raatgever, CEO, Microgaming commented "We are delighted to be working with 888 to deliver a poker solution to the French market. We look forward to combining our wealth of experience and knowledge to bring the highest global standards to the local market.
"We are working hard to ensure quick and seamless integration of our software, and are fully committed to the French market, ensuring that we are fully compliant with all French regulatory standards. We have combined our efforts and successfully submitted operator licenses to the ARJEL. This is a milestone for us and marks the beginning of our first wave of applications, which we believe will see us rapidly establishing ourselves as market leaders in France.”
