Bingo News: Narrow Escape for Bingo Players Following Collapse Of A Ceiling
Bingo players had a close shave with what might have turned out to be a very unfortunate incident after the collapse of a false ceiling at a Scottish club. The club was located in the Galashiels area of the Scottish Border region. Following this, three ambulances, three fire engines and two police vans were called to the venue, who immediately carried the evacuation process at the pavilion and in the adjoining buildings including a cinema hall.
The front entrance of the Bingo club was soon sealed off by the team of Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service who maintained their presence at the venue while the building control crew of the Scottish Borders Council took control of the situation and investigated the entire area.
Speaking about the incident, the spokesperson from the Lothian and Borders Police said that the team got the information from someone regarding the collapse of ceiling in the bingo club. She went on to confirm that none of the bingo players were injured during the collapse incident.
One of the crew members from the Scottish Ambulance Service said that they had reached the venue in time however; there was no need to provide any first aid or to take anyone to the hospital. The cinema goers in the adjoining cinema hall were given the refund after they were made to exit the venue.
Several such incidents have taken place in Bingo clubs in the recent past due to suspended ceilings. The safety team suggested that regular inspections can help prevent such mishaps.
