Bingo News: The Bingo Legal Battle Goes Cohen’s Way
The legal battle that was raging between Richelle Olson and Sacha Baron Cohen following a clash between the two on the sets of film Bruno has gone in favor of the latter star. Sacha Baron Cohen who is known for his roles in outlandish flicks and for his dressing sense of the same genre was accused by Richelle Olson of sabotaging her ongoing game of Bingo as well as beating her hard while a scene of his film Bruno was being shot in the year 2007. Reports suggest that Richelle Olson had not even spared the camera crew of the Outlandish Star and had sued him for an amount of $25,000.
On the contrary, the court held Richelle Olson responsible for claiming fake charges on the star and also ordered her to pay an amount of $17,000 which would cover the amount spent by him as the legal fees all these years. Apparently, the change of statements tactics of Richelle Olson did her in. At first, she gave a statement that she was beaten and pushed by Sacha Baron Cohen while her Bingo game was on but later on she retracted her statement by saying that she was verbally abused by the star. In another interview, she was heard as laying a claim that soon after the Bingo drama between her and Cohan, she rushed to another room where she fell unconscious following which she had to stay on a wheel chair for a long time.
Although the court’s verdict remained in Sacha Baron Cohen’s favor, Richelle Olson gained a great deal of publicity from the case. As for Sacha Baron Cohen, he has always embraced the limelight. The Bingo scene in question was cut from the film Bruno.
