Two of the United Kingdom’s top newspaper sponsored online bingo sites are due to alter their casino software providers this week. Both the Daily Mirror (which runs Mirror Bingo) and the Daily Record bingo sites are currently running on the Dragonfish platform. Under the new changes, both bingo sites will switch to run Playtech’s Virtue Fusion software.
Dragonfish Software power many of the internet’s bingo domains. There have been several negative notes pointed out, though, such as promotional situation which sees all sites on the Dragonfish Network offering the same deals. This means that many of their bingo domains are the same in all but name and theme. The switch to Playtech’s Virtue Fusion platform should alleviate this problem a little bit for gamers at the two bingo domains.
Trinity Mirror is the group that owns both of the sites, and their spokesman came out this week and said that the company recognised the need to change, with an opportunity for growth available to them.
There is another bingo site run by this group, known as Cashcade. It is unclear at the moment whether or not this domain will be affected by the switch.
The new bingo domains are thought to be equipped with the new Virtue Fusion software from this week on, and all players have been notified of the upcoming changes.
Others jumping too
Mirror Bingo isn’t the only online bingo site that has been making changes of late. A number of other top online bingo sites have also been adjusting their domains and some switching their software providers, in a bid to stay on top of the competition. There has been a significant rise in the number of online bingo sites appearing this year, and with a packed summer of bingo promotions and tournaments all over the net, it is only natural that Mirror Bingo want to take things in a new direction.
