Ted Bingo Review

Ted Bingo is a brand new bingo site for 2016, which immediately puts it in something of an uphill struggle.

Not only has this site arrived in a market that is already highly competitive, it has also done that in a year where a huge amount of other newly launched sites have also hit the online bingo scene.

One would think that a bingo site launching in 2016 would, as a result, have to work hard to prove itself. 

Alternatively, it could just announce itself as the “Best New Online Bingo Site of 2016” and leave it there, which is what Ted Bingo has done.

The first problem with this, is that Ted Bingo was launched with this claim announced in May of 2016, not even halfway through the year, which makes it entirely possible to claim with any level of surety that a site is the best of the year, because there are seven more months coming after your site launches, and you’d expect there to be more than a few bingo sites launched in that time.

Design and theme

“What does Ted Bingo suggest to you?”

“A teddy bear?”

“I like the teddy bear idea, but instead of that, how about we make it a more bear like bear, who is also a spy?”

This must have been the oddest meeting that ever occurred, one assumes that the person who suggested this bizarre approach to the concept of Ted Bingo had the loudest voice in the room, because it’s difficult to believe a group of people would’ve seen this as a good idea.

See Ted parachuting, driving a sports car, drinking a martini, and other James Bond style actions that nobody has ever expected a bear called Ted to be doing.

This site takes the theory of the film Ted, which made a bear called Ted incredibly unexpected by creating a foul mouthed creature, and removed all the irony that made the concept work on screen.

I’m sure some people will be impressed by this theme, maybe, but surely it’s just too ridiculous for anybody to take seriously, or in jest.

Navigation of the site is pretty good, which helps, bingo rooms and slot games are all readily available directly from the homepage, and you can find anything you need to without too much trouble, but this really doesn’t make up for the total stupidity of the concept of Ted Bingo. It’s not cute, it’s not funny, it certainly isn’t clever, it’s just silly.
